Privacy

Snipflik is built on a simple promise: we don't sell your data, and we don't let third parties surveil you inside our app.

What we collect

• Account info you give us (email, username, optional bio, optional avatar)
• Content you post (videos, photos, captions, comments, messages)
• Basic usage metrics needed to show your feed and detect abuse (likes, follows, watch progress)
• Stripe billing identifiers when you subscribe (we never see your card number)

What we don't collect

• No selling of your personal data to data brokers — ever
• No background location, no contacts, no device fingerprinting beyond standard fraud protection
• No microphone or camera access unless you tap the record button

How we use it

Strictly to run Snipflik: deliver your feed, send notifications you opted into, process payments, moderate harmful content, and keep the lights on.

Third-party AI services

Some Snipflik features are powered by third-party artificial-intelligence providers. When you actively use these features, the content you submit is sent to the relevant provider for processing:

• Auto-captions — audio from videos you upload is transcribed by OpenAI (Whisper).
• AI beats & stem separation — audio you create or upload in $nip-Studio may be processed by Replicate (MusicGen, Demucs).
• AI voices — text you convert to speech is processed by ElevenLabs or OpenAI.
• AI images & video — prompts you enter are processed by Google (Gemini) or OpenAI (image and Sora video generation).
• Content moderation — captions and comments are screened by automated AI moderation to keep the platform safe.

These providers process your content solely to deliver the feature you requested, under their own privacy policies. We never send them your data in the background — only when you use an AI feature. We do not use your content to train AI models.

Advertising

Free accounts may see ads served by Google AdSense. Google may use cookies or device identifiers to show relevant ads, as described in Google's advertising policy. Paid Snipflik+ plans remove third-party ads. We do not share your Snipflik profile data, videos, or messages with advertisers.

Children's privacy

Snipflik is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. We verify age with a date of birth at signup and block registrations from users under 13. If we learn that an account belongs to a child under 13, we will terminate it and delete its data. If you believe a child under 13 is using Snipflik, contact us at Admin@Snipflik.com and we will act promptly.

Your rights

• Export a full JSON archive at any time (Settings → Your data).
• Delete your account permanently. We hard-delete everything you posted AND notify every federated server that ever followed you (real right-to-be-forgotten, not a click-and-pray button).
• Federate — your handle @you@snipflik.com works with Mastodon and the wider Fediverse.
