What is Snipflik?

Snipflik is a short-video platform built creator-first. You scroll a vertical feed of short videos and live shows — like the big apps — but the economics are flipped: creators keep 95% of what they earn, audiences are portable through federation, and the algorithm explains itself with a “Why am I seeing this?” button on every video.

Is Snipflik free?

Yes. Watching, posting, going live, and building an audience are all free. Free accounts see occasional ads. Snipflik+ ($4.99/mo) removes ads; Pro ($12.99/mo) adds longer uploads and pro creator tools; Family ($21.99/mo) covers the household.

Can I watch without an account?

Yes — the public feed, video pages, creator profiles, and live listings are open to everyone. You only need an account to post, like, comment, follow, message, or earn.

How do creators actually get paid?

Four ways: tips from viewers, monthly fan subscriptions, the Snipflik Creator Incentive Program, and marketplace sales (beats and stems from $nip-Studio). Snipflik takes 5% — the creator keeps 95%. That split is hard-coded, not a promotional rate.

What are Snipflik coins?

Coins are the in-app currency viewers use to tip creators and unlock premium studio tools. You buy them with a card via Stripe, and creators convert earned coins to real money. Tips are final once sent.

What is $nip-Studio?

A built-in creation suite. It includes an AI-assisted music-video editor (turn a song into a full scene-by-scene music video), beat making, stem separation, AI voices, auto-captions, and picture looks you can bake into your final export — no external editing software needed.

What is Snip Vision?

Snipflik's live-show system. Creators host multi-guest live shows, invite guests with a magic link (no account needed to preview), and viewers tune in from the Live tab.

Why do I see ads, and how do I turn them off?

Ads keep the free tier free. Free accounts see a sponsored slot every few videos — some from Google AdSense, some from brands advertising directly on Snipflik. Upgrading to Snipflik+ ($4.99/mo) removes third-party ads entirely.

What does “federated” mean?

Your handle works like @you@snipflik.com across the Fediverse (Mastodon and compatible apps). Your followers belong to you, not to the platform — if you ever leave, your audience can follow you out. Most platforms hold your audience hostage; we think that's backwards.

How does the feed algorithm work?

The For You feed ranks by watch time, likes, and follows — and every video has a “Why am I seeing this?” option that shows the actual reason. The Following tab is strictly people you follow, in reverse-chronological order. No engagement bait, no rage-boosting.

How old do I have to be?

13 or older. We check date of birth at signup and delete accounts found to belong to anyone under 13.

How do I report a video or user?

Tap the · · · menu on any video or comment and choose Report, or report a user from their profile. Every report is reviewed — high-severity content is escalated to human moderators.

How do I delete my account?

Settings → Danger zone → Delete my account permanently. It's immediate and complete — videos, messages, followers, everything — and deletion notices go out to every federated server that followed you. Full details on our account deletion page.

How is my privacy handled?

We don't sell your data, don't track your location, and don't let advertisers see your profile, videos, or messages. AI features only process content when you actively use them. Read the full privacy policy for specifics.

How do I get in touch?
